Wrexham University

Wrexham University is a public university in northeast Wales, with campuses in Wrexham, Northop, and St Asaph. It is known for its student-focused environment, high satisfaction levels, and strong employability support, offering hands-on learning, strong industry links, and diverse academic programmes.

The university traces its roots to the Wrexham School of Science and Art (founded 1887), later becoming North East Wales Institute in 1975. It gained university-status as Glyndŵr University in 2008 and renamed itself Wrexham University in late 2023

Ranked in the global Top 25 creative schools by The Rookies in 2024 (3rd in the UK), and 2nd highest-ranked creative arts specialist in the UK according to the Guardian University Guide 2025. In the REF 2021 (Research Excellence Framework), 78% of UCA’s research was rated as world-leading or internationally excellent. The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025 ranked UCA 12th for social inclusion. The university was also awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) in 2020.
